How to Brush Hair?

Most of us know that brushing our hair is a very important part of daily hair care regimen to maintain healthy hair. It is quite undeniable that hair is one of the most important aspects of one's look. Good hair care combined with proper nutrition and optimum sleep can make these hair your most vital beauty asset.
Hair brushing is a very simple procedure that every one of us performs, but are you sure you do it in the right way? Believe it, a bit of mistake in this simple process can ruin our looks or even damage our hair. Everything from the hair brush to strokes that we make with them will either make or break the hair. While shampoos, conditioners, hair gels, and other hair care products contribute volume and shine to the hair, good brushing gives the final looks to our hair. For proper hair brushing you need both, a good hair brush and complete knowledge of brushing technique.

  • Most brushes, except for the boar bristles brushes, should have round plastic balls on the end of the bristles to avoid scratching the scalp and breaking the hair.
  • A boar bristle brush has soft and flexible bristles that may help prevent split ends.
  • For short hair, use paddington brush with soft protective bristles.
  • For medium length wavy hair, use extra large round brush to blow out the kinks and curls.
  • To brush scalp without scratching it, use brush that has soft plastic knobs on the end of the bristles. This also stimulates and lift a dry scalp.
  • When using a round brush, each section should be less than width of the brush to avoid tangles.
  • The size of the brush depends upon the length of the hair. Fine hair should use a brush that is the size smaller to give more support than a large brush.

Brushing Long Hair
For longhair, it is better to use a comb instead of hair brush, as it is less likely to tear away your hair. Even when using a comb, it is best to not use it in excess, but rather, only to style hair or to get rid of extra tangles. This will allow the protective coating to remain in place, and will allow for better hair. If you have been brushing your hair every day, it may be leading to hair loss instead of helping with healthy hair. If you brush your hair very often, it is important to do it at night.
